About the job

Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About The Team

The Risk team is responsible for the health and success of Stripe’s financial platform, managing our exposure credit, fraud, regulatory and the payments ecosystem. Within the Risk organization, the Partnerships Risk Strategy team leads the risk interface with our financial partners and works cross-functionally with internal teams to build a best in class risk platform. Through collaboration with risk partners, we drive sustained value and growth for our users.

What you’ll do

As a Program Manager in the Ecosystem Risk Program Management Office (PMO), you will be responsible for building the strategic resource hub and process methodology that enables effective engagement between Risk Partnerships and our global financial partners. You will take the lead in coordinating partners' strategic information needs from Stripe, including formal audits, requests for information, and other ad hoc risk inquiries that fall outside the scope of standard partner reporting. Given Stripe’s global presence, your role will involve designing and implementing scalable information solutions and communication strategies to address market and partner-specific needs.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with members of Risk Partnerships and cross-functional Risk teams to meet partner needs and develop consistent risk narratives across core focus areas such as disputes, fraud, onboarding, and supportability. Additionally, you will contribute to establishing and managing internal partner risk metrics. This will involve collaborating with colleagues in the Ecosystem Risk team to recommend and monitor charter risk metrics that measure partner health.

Due to your deep knowledge of partners' key areas of risk focus, you will also be responsible for representing Risk Partnerships & Strategy in the initial phase of addressing partner-facing risk incidents, ensuring they are effectively triaged and managed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end ownership of high impact partner audits, including both content and DRI preparation

  • Create and maintain resources and processes, often drawing from disparate teams, to ensure efficient, timely, effective and cohesive response from the company during sensitive partner interactions

  • Maintain tight coordination with cross-functional stakeholders who participate in audit delivery, ensuring alignment with our overall approach

  • Collaborate with other members of the PMO team to develop strategic long term roadmaps to support Risk Partnership needs globally

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement charter metrics for monitoring risk partnership health

  • Serve as first line of defense for triaging partnerships risk aspect of new incidents

  • Gather a deep knowledge of Stripe’s product and merchant risk profile, as well as our related control environment

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in business process analysis, strategy and operations, consulting, and/or program management

  • The ability to represent Stripe at the risk practitioner level with a wide range of financial partners and other outside stakeholder groups

  • Demonstrated ability to set and deliver against ambitious roadmaps in one or more of Stripe’s core risk disciplines

  • Successful track record of working collaboratively and cross-functionally to solve complex risk problems

  • Strong stakeholder management, including navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing internal and external stakeholders across organizations and borders

  • Ability to distill complex, ambiguous risk and policy problems into clear, concise, and reliable guidance for internal stakeholders and Stripe users

  • Experience managing and resolving risk incidents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and proficiency in quantitative analysis geared towards drawing actionable insights from complex datasets

  • Experience digging in to understand network and financial partner rules and regulations

  • Experience overseeing execution and delivery of highly-strategic programs; proven ability to take complex issues and turn them into actionable next steps, hold others accountable, and meet deadlines

Hybrid work at Stripe

Our Chicago, Dublin, and Singapore teams spend at least 50% of their time in their local offices. We believe that more in-person interactions will contribute to better results for our employees and Stripe. Increased office time allows for improved collaboration, efficiency, and informal learning opportunities, fostering a stronger community and building our culture. We will apply the insights gained from these initial three locations to continue refining our hybrid approach.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $118,200 - $177,300. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
