The Risk Fraud Investigator is responsible for monitoring the processing activity of our portfolio and investigating unusual or suspicious activity. The ideal candidate is someone who can provide superior customer service while protecting both our merchants and Spot On. Communication skills are a must as the majority of your interaction with our customers will be through phone and email.

This is a hybrid position for our office in Omaha, NE. Candidates must be located in Omaha to be considered.

You Will

  • Review and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly merchant activity for increased credit risk, fraud threats and unusual activity.

  • Proactively monitor all merchant activities for compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies.

  • Investigate abnormal merchant activity and recommend appropriate actions .

  • Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with federal, state and Bank Secrecy Act regulatory requirements and according to SpotOn policies.

  • Investigate accounts and draft cases for unusual activity escalations to bank sponsors.

  • Document within the appropriate systems detailed notes including investigation notes, daily activity, phone calls and verification notes.

  • Review internal records before releasing funds to ensure accounts do not have additional issues/collections.

  • Communicate risk decisions effectively in both verbal and written communication to merchants, agent offices and management.

  • Communication skills are a must as the majority of your interaction with our customers will be through phone and email to resolve issues on the account or complete investigations

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years relevant experience in the merchant processing industry

  • Familiar with card brand rules and best practices.

  • Excellent research and written communications skills

  • Must use good judgment and show strong decision making

  • Detail oriented and must have the ability to prioritize all tasks appropriately. Experience working is a fast paced environment a plus

  • Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to new systems quickly and efficiently
