About this RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Officer to manage the risks associated with our payment acceptance and payout products. Reporting directly to the CEO, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the payments industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies. They must demonstrate strategic planning abilities and be willing to execute tasks hands-on. The Risk Officer will work closely with the Compliance Officer to help ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including AML and data protection laws.
Key Responsibilities:Risk Management and Assessment:Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to payment acceptance and payout products.Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate identified risks.Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews of existing processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Fraud Prevention and Detection:Develop and maintain robust fraud prevention and detection systems.Monitor transactions for suspicious activity and implement measures to prevent fraud and financial crime.Collaborate with the engineering and data science teams to enhance fraud detection algorithms and tools.Risk Analytics and Reporting:Analyze risk data and trends to provide actionable insights to the Risk Committee.Prepare and present regular risk reports to the executive team and the board of directors.Develop key risk indicators (KRIs) and maintain dashboards for ongoing risk monitoring.
