The Opportunity

The Sr Analyst position is responsible for detecting, identifying, and linking emerging threats impacting Ally and our customers. This role is responsible for managing the reviewing internal and external intelligence and conducting complex research and analysis against this data for trend fraud and financial crime exposure, identification, intelligence development, and reporting. This position requires the ability to analyze large amounts of data and extract relevant information to be used in tactical and strategic investigations. This position is the critical link between Fraud, AML and Cyber Crime detection and investigation with Ally business lines and other compliance & risk operations.

The Work Itself

  • Conducts complex analysis and produces cross-product fraud intelligence and analytical reports specific to internal and external fraud events, researches internal databases for Fraud, AML and Cyber crime exposure and identifies gaps in policy/procedure that leaves Ally or their customers exposed to financial crime events.

  • Conducts research, collects, and analyzes data and intelligence from internal, analytical reports, Fraud Prevention operations, strategies, claims reports and related intelligence from Ally Risk.

  • Performs research from fraud prevention partners, external intelligence, data, and reports from law enforcement, other financial institutions and relevant intelligence groups, organizations, and national resources.

  • Focuses on detecting, identifying, and linking crime ring activities and identifies intelligence gaps essential to detecting emerging crime trends and conceptualizing and implementing fraud prevention strategies.

  • Establishes common fraud forums with internal and external partners.Leads cross functional Fraud, AML and Cyber initiatives, engaging operations, risk management, financial crime analysis partners, and investigative resources to support the development and implementation of Fraud, AML and Cyber detection, deterrence, and prevention strategies.

  • Implements and tracks key fraud and financial crimes portfolios for criminal rings and other emerging criminal activities.

Skills

  • 3 years compliance, threat intelligence, and/or investigations experience in financial services required

  • Ability to understand and engage in technical discussions on threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

  • Experience with complex methodologies, model development, and link analysis.

  • Strong research, writing and presentation skills; ability to convey complex concepts and communicate findings of emerging threats through written and oral intelligence briefings.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to consume complex data sets for trend detection and the development of threat assessments.

  • Ability to manage intelligence/data from vendor, consortium, and law enforcement partners to be consumed for intelligence development.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in finance, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
