Responsibilities:
Codify the process: Fraud Prevention and Risk ManagementDevelop and implement strategies to detect and prevent fraudulent activities on our platform.Utilize big data and reporting tools to detect and quantify emerging fraud patterns (Kibana, Looker, Tableau et. all)Measure, track, and communicate data on fraudulent patterns on a monthly basis and as neededPartner with others on the team as well as cross-functionally across the organization to develop, enhance and analyze data to produce product, policy and control improvement recommendations. Increase efficiency, reduce loss, and mitigate risk into the future.Provide deep dives into instances of harmful or fraudulent behavior to strengthen our understanding and defenses; providing fraud reports and post mortems to the Executive, Development, and Customer Support TeamsIdentify potential risks associated with the platform and services, and develop proactive risk mitigation strategiesConduct regular assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary security measuresCollaborate with Dev and security teams to maintain a robust and secure system infrastructureMonitor and enforce compliance with legal regulations, evolving industry trends and standards, and internal policies
Uncover hidden treasure: Account Verification and User ComplianceServe as an escalation point in verifying the authenticity of user accounts through various verification methods, such as email, identity, and address verificationInvestigate and address violations, including improper platform usage, unauthorized access, and illegal activitiesConduct thorough investigations to ensure compliance with our internal policiesImplement and improve user verification processes and tools to maintain the integrity of our platformOwn executive decision making regarding denial of service actions to customerCollaborate with General Counsel and Litigation partners for subpoena obligations, providing data on litigated matters
Navigate the seas: Training and EducationSpearhead development and ownership of both the Security team and Customer Support’s Knowledge Base (Guru) as it relates to internal and external fraud processes and informationProvide training and educational resources to employees and users on security best practices, fraud prevention techniques, and policy complianceServe as an escalation point for Fraud and Payments teamProvide mentorship to Security, Fraud and Payments team and serve as a resource to team on advanced issues of a sophisticated naturePromote a culture of vigilance, integrity and security throughout the organization

Compensation & Benefits:Compensation - The pay range for this role is $115,000-$125,000 yearly USD.Vacation Time - We offer 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start to keep our pirates rested & rejuvenated!Paid Holidays - 12 paid holidays per year.Paid Sick Time - 80 hours annually.Medical Insurance - 100% covered for Pirates by the company and kicks in the first of the month after enrollment.
