What You'll Do

As a Senior Investigator on our Trust and Safety team at Epic, you will be responsible for understanding how our gaming environment could be exploited, investigate complex cases, advance investigative methods, and use innovative research approaches to safeguard players and creators. The ideal candidate is an innovative self-starter, motivated by our mission, and results-driven.

In this role, you will

Investigate and understand how abuse could manifest on Epic’s platforms and the wider gaming ecosystemLead investigative research, identify trends, understand behavior, and design forward-looking enforcement strategies to mitigate potential harmProactively hunt for undetected suspected abuse by leveraging an array of resourcesAnalyze qualitative and quantitative data to advance investigations, quantify trends, and support findings with clear, concise evidenceTake a leadership role in suggesting, prototyping, and teaching novel investigative techniques and analytic methodologiesHandle exposure to graphic and/or objectionable content


What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience performing investigations in government, intelligence, cybersecurity, journalism, and/or private sector organizationsSkilled at developing multi-source, evidence-based findings and communicating them to diverse audiencesProficient in open-source investigations to obtain publicly available information that might not be in plain sightExperience working on or managing projects with company-wide impact and/or multi-organization cross-functional stakeholdersAbility to prioritize and execute with minimal direction or oversightSubject matter expertise or prior work experience with trust and safety challenges within a gaming companyExperience conducting data analysis using SQL and PythonExperience working under compressed timelinesExperience working with a team spanning multiple locations/time zonesNice to have: MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, or a related field
